What is Shaklee 180 Energizing Tea?
Do you usually find that you need a pick-me-up in the afternoon, or even to get started in the morning? Shaklee 180 Energizing Tea is a safe, natural alternative to coffee or sugary sodas and energy drinks.
Shaklee Energizing tea comes in either pomegranate or matcha green tea and contains naturally occurring caffeine for a safe energy boost when you need it without all of the calories and sugar that are in other energy drinks. Each serving of Shaklee energizing tea has about 70 mg of caffeine with only 2 grams of sugar in the pomegranate tea. The matcha green tea has less than 1 gram of sugar.
What is in Shaklee 180 Energizing Tea?
The Shaklee energy teas contain a blend of green tea extract, matcha green tea powder, white tea extract and red tea extract to provide a rich antioxidant content. Green tea, matcha tea and white tea all come from the leaves of the camellia sinensis tea plant and are processed differently to achieve different levels of oxidation. Red rooibos tea comes from the Aspalathus linearis bush found in South Africa.
The teas also include taurine, an amino acid that enhances alertness and energy.
The Shaklee pomegranate tea is higher in sugar, in the form of dextrose and fructose, and sweetened further with stevia extract. Even so, each serving only has 2 grams of sugar for a total of 10 calories. The Shaklee matcha green tea flavor has less than 1 gram of sugar and only 5 calories per serving.
What Else do I Need to Know?
You can make the Shaklee Energizing teas either hot or cold. You can see them above made as a refreshing iced tea.
The tea mixes contain no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives and are gluten free.
A serving size is one stick and each box contains 28 sticks for a total of 28 servings per box.
The teas do contain caffeine, about 70 mg per serving, so they are not recommended for children. Pregnant or nursing women should consult their physician before taking the tea. If you are sensitive to caffeine then you may want to start with half a serving. If you were told to avoid caffeine, then avoid these teas as well.
Finally, the teas are made in facilities that may also process peanuts and tree nuts.
